Some more analyzing

After the task set where we had to apply conceptual/performance (studio)/performance (concert)/ narrative to music videos, whilst sitting listening to some of my favourite songs I could not help apply these theories. Here are a few:
This is a conceptual a video as the majority of the time Chris Brown is singing and dancing in front of the camera. He is also at times singing within a large group of people. It could be argued that the first 30 seconds or so is narrative as it is scripted however this is not prevalent throughout the video which is why I would say that it is just a conceptual video.

One Direction's 'Little Things' is a studio performance as there is evidence of the technology equipment you would typically find in a studio including the microphones being used and some music stands lying about. This is not a conceptual video for example because they are directly addressing the audience as if performing to the audience and further playing instruments to suggest that all the equipment they would need for a performance would be in the room that they filmed this song in.

Chris Brown's 'Take you down' is a concert performance as there is an audience screaming for the star and he is also on a stage with a microphone and back up dancers. During the performance it does not cut to Chris Brown in another location therefore suggesting that this is a full concert performance.

Justin Timberlake's 'Mirrors' is a conceptual/narrative. It is conceptual as the video had a theme and the concept was quite unusual. It was a narrative however as it followed an old couple from their youth to their old age.

Nicki Minaj's 2014 song 'Pills and Potions' is an interesting music video as it is a .mixture music video and a conceptual music video. It was a mixture music video as there appeared to be almost foil like material rolling down her eyes as if she were crying however it looked animated. There was also a cloud like material which was created. In this video there was also a link between visuals and the lyrics (Goodwin). It was a concept video as it was a difficult and abstract theme to understand whilst watching the video without lyrics.
